Ana I. Ortega

Ana Isabel Ortega is the Founder and CEO  of The Promise Center, a multidisciplinary therapy and wellness center in San Antonio, Texas, dedicated to providing comprehensive, person-centered care for individuals across the lifespan. Building on the foundation of Promise Center for Autism, the organization offers ABA, speech, occupational, and feeding therapies while expanding its services to include counseling, mental health, and other supports that address the evolving needs of individuals and families.

Ana began her career as an ABA therapist in 2009. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2010 and a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University in 2012. After becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, she gained experience across home, school, clinic, and community settings. These experiences shaped her understanding of the importance of individualized care and ultimately inspired her to build an organization rooted in both clinical excellence and genuine human connection.

As a clinician and leader, Ana is committed to compassionate, high-quality care and to creating environments where clients, families, and professionals can thrive. She brings this commitment to every aspect of her work, from developing clinical programs and mentoring emerging professionals to building a team that reflects the organization’s standards and vision. Her leadership is guided by the belief that people are best supported when their strengths, needs, and lived experiences are recognized.

Ana is deeply committed to culturally responsive and trauma-informed care. Her bilingual and bicultural background, shaped by her upbringing in Mexico, enables her to connect with families from diverse communities and help reduce barriers to access. She also draws on her personal experiences and belief in mind-body-spirit wellness to promote a more holistic approach to care and leadership.

In addition to leading The Promise Center, Ana serves on the advisory board for the Applied Behavior Analysis program at Texas A&M–San Antonio and is a founding member of OMPAC (Organización Mexicana de Practicantes de Análisis Conductual Aplicado), which promotes the ethical dissemination of ABA in Mexico. She is also a member of the Alamo City Behavior Analyst (ACBA) group, where she works to strengthen local professional networks and elevate standards of care across the region.

Ana lives in San Antonio with her husband, Héctor, their two daughters, and their cat. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature, listening to audiobooks, and being with loved ones. Through every phase of her journey, Ana remains grounded in purpose, gratitude, and the power of meaningful connection. The Promise Center is a living reflection of those values and of her vision to create a place where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
